Our First Market of 2016

by James Sleigh   (2016-02-10)

Our monthly markets are about so much more than buying and selling – they offer a chance for family to meet up, for our community of friends to visit and are something that our residents look forward to each month. There’s a laid-back and friendly vibe, plenty of space for everybody and no hurry to be anywhere else. Time to chat and enjoy coffee and cake or our legendary bacon and egg rolls, time to talk to stallholders and time just to chill and listen to the live music.

We were lucky with the weather last Sunday for our first market of the year. It was warm but the wind kept off the worst of the summer heatwave and it was pleasant in the shade provided by the ‘big top’ drapes.

We had several new vendors; fresh juices powered by the sun, goats’ cheeses from Anysbos and a once-off garage sale of furniture and home wares, buzzing with bargain hunters. Peter’s book store was busy and he’s looking for more shelves to accommodate all the books he still has in boxes, to make it easier for everyone to browse.

Our next market will be on 6th March 2016 – Looking forward to seeing you here!
